Best RBT Staffing Agencies (2026)

The best RBT staffing agencies for 2026, compared on RBT credential checks, clearances, supervision fit, exclusivity and temp-to-hire terms.

The best RBT staffing agency for most ABA providers, autism programs, and schools in 2026 is Focused Staffing Group's Focused Behavioral division. It verifies each technician's active BACB credential and clearances before you interview, works with one client per region, and converts temp-to-hire RBTs at no cost. Ro Health, Amergis, Soliant, Konnections Staffing, and Seabright round out the list.

How we ranked RBT staffing agencies

An ABA provider or school buying RBT staffing is buying four things: coverage, meaning technicians who show up for every scheduled session; compliance, meaning an active credential and every clearance the setting requires; continuity, so the same technician stays with the same client; and cost terms that do not punish you for hiring the technician who works out. We weighed each agency on those four, plus how deliberately it staffs RBTs at all. Facts about other agencies come only from their own websites.

The 2026 RBT requirements every agency has to verify

The RBT credential changed on January 1, 2026. Any agency on this list should be able to tell you what stands behind the credential it verifies.

  • Eligibility. RBT applicants must be at least 18, have a high school-level education or equivalent, and undergo a criminal background check and an abuse registry check reviewed by an attestor BACB.
  • Training and assessment. Applicants on or after January 1, 2026 complete a 40-hour training aligned with the BACB's 2026 curriculum outline, taught by active BCBAs or BCaBAs who have completed an 8-hour supervision training, then the updated RBT Initial Competency Assessment and the exam BACB.
  • Supervision. Every RBT is supervised for at least 5% of the hours spent providing behavior-analytic services each calendar month, including two face-to-face contacts, at least one of them individual BACB.
  • Renewal. RBTs now recertify on a two-year cycle and complete 12 professional development units before each recertification date BACB.

The 2026 list

1. Focused Staffing Group (Focused Behavioral) — best overall for RBT staffing

Focused Behavioral is the behavioral health staffing division of Focused Staffing Group, headquartered in Wayne, Pennsylvania, and founded by former K-12 teacher Robert Flom. It places Registered Behavior Technicians, behavior technicians, and the BCBAs who supervise them with ABA and autism providers, school-based programs, IDD agencies, and residential programs. Clients include Keystone Human Services and Merakey, and on the education side Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and Pathways in Education.

  • Coverage: RBTs for clinic-based ABA, in-home services, school-based programs, residential settings, and community-based care, across Pennsylvania and New Jersey statewide plus Delaware, Maryland, Washington DC, and New York.
  • Compliance: the RBT credential is verified as active, and clearances — in Pennsylvania, Act 34, Act 151, and Act 114 — plus TB tests, vaccination records, and references with prior supervisors are complete before a technician reaches your shortlist. Automated credentialing cuts typical time-to-hire roughly in half.
  • Continuity: one client per region, so the technicians developed for your caseloads are never shown to the provider across town. RBTs are paid weekly, every Friday, by direct deposit or Cash App, and pick up or swap shifts through a mobile app.
  • Cost: every placement can run temp-to-hire, and converting an RBT to your payroll carries no fee.

The state rules that sit on top of the RBT credential

  • Pennsylvania. Staff working with children need a Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, a State Police Criminal History Clearance, and an FBI Criminal History Clearance, renewed every 60 months from the date of the oldest clearance Pennsylvania DHS.
  • New Jersey. Practicing applied behavior analysis requires a state license; technicians are exempt only when they work under the extended authority and direction of a licensed analyst and use titles that show they are not licensed P.L.2019, c.337. In DDD-funded services, no one may provide direct care until the Department clears their fingerprint check NJ DDD.

What to ask an RBT staffing agency before you sign

  • Is the RBT credential verified as active, and are clearances complete, before a technician reaches our shortlist?
  • Do your technicians' 40-hour trainings meet the BACB's 2026 requirements?
  • Who tracks clearance renewals and the two-year RBT recertification once a technician is placed?
  • Will you also staff the competing ABA provider in our region?
  • What does it cost to bring a temp-to-hire RBT onto our payroll?
  • How do you keep technicians showing up for every scheduled session?
